Music hums softly through my earphones, moving in quiet harmony with Taipei’s night. The streetlights stretch my shadow long and thin, footsteps tapping against the asphalt like an unspoken rhythm. Not fast, not slow—just steady, just right. The wind slips through the gaps of my shirt, neon reflections flicker in my eyes for a moment before vanishing.

The city keeps moving. Motorcycles rush past, convenience store doors chime in their usual monotone. But these sounds remain distant, as if muffled by a thin veil of mist, unable to disturb the quiet within me. I keep walking—not to prove anything, not to reach anywhere in particular. Just to breathe, together with the city’s night.
